IS POVERTY A CURSE ?

Poverty– State of being Poor, Helpless, Hopeless, Starvation, Gloomy future, Lacking basic living standards, necessities and sanitation. Are such things apt to define Poverty? Is this materialism justified to discuss about future of the impoverished people? At least 80% of humanity lives on less than 100 rupees a day. More than 80 percent of the world’s population lives in countries where income differentials are widening. The poorest 40 percent of the world’s population accounts for 5 percent of global income. The richest 20 percent, accounts for three-quarters of world income. Nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their names. Less than one per cent of what the world spent every year on weapons was needed to put every child into school by the year 2000 and yet it didn’t happen*.

Poor nations are facing the problem of Poverty, so are the developing nations. What about the developed nations don’t they face such problems. What is success? What brings development? Success is unidirectional. Today Industrialization, Globalization, Scientific Excellence, Military Enhancement has brought success and development for a country. Where do these poor people go? Don’t they have any participation in this development?

Today every single day we need them starting from our homes the House-maid, Blacksmith, Cobbler, Barber, Sewer cleaners, Farmers and Construction workers everywhere we can see them, we depend on them. All the things of comfort and modern luxuries such as Malls, Restaurants, Multiplexes, Hotels and many more are outcomes of their continuous and dedicated labor.

Today the poor are impoverished. Is this the tribute we are paying to those who are important to us? What will happen if each and every poor person gets extinct in future or every son and daughter of a poor becomes an engineer or a doctor or a general employee. Who will work for that tedious jobs can a Youth work for it? Youth are the promising future of a nation. But as a youth what is a youth reaping for the nation just getting degrees and then migrating to foreign countries for higher degrees or for high paid jobs. Brain drain is not a problem of a country the major problem is from the people residing in that country. They have forgotten their duties and social responsibilities. This is the real brain drain affecting the most.
How should one come forward to overcome this problem, our solution is not to remove the fortune less our solution to this problem is to give them importance, educating them making them aware of their rights bringing them in front of the commons. The truth is that for an existence and smooth survival of a culture of a nation we need them. Abolish Poverty not Poverty-stricken otherwise our survival is hard.

  1. wht i conclude wen i think over poverty, it is jus a perception that blacksmiths, mine workers .barbers r poor. yes it is true in the case of poor and developing countries where there r huge manpower while in da case of america or europe these people make mor money than people doing white collared jobs lik engineers, professors .that y people in developed contry do household chores by themselves lik painting. even mais servants r called helper rather than servents and r paid handome. so the main problem of world is population. in developing countries da people hav nothing to hav entertain and cheapest entertainment is to reproduce( beside marrying at low age) even marrying at low age can't b problem if they know to take correct precautionary measures.
and even we take da example of america da centraliozation of money is more thre than any other country than 90% of people r having only 5% of money, the english speaking people hav more money 1000 times or 10000 times than spanish speaking people, all afro american or black people r subjected to underprileged status, so wether the country is developed or nt it is only few people who hav the power ,da money and right to explioted the poorers. it is called law of forest, da one who born strong will exploit the weaker, the the rule made by GOD and no one can change or challenge dat.

  2. one thing is coming to my mind that why in India there was caste division ?
Firstly, the brahmins were given the highest priority because they were the educated and qualified people.
Secondly, the kshatriyas were the next because they had power and autonomy.
Lastly were the shudras who were the working class peasants who were uneducated and powerless.

Now, what was thought that if this shudras were not doing there work properly then the educated people i.e brahmins will have to teach them what is correct and what is wrong and if they didin't understand this language of teaching then the kshatriyas taught them by use of their autonomy powers that what is correct and what is wrong because "LATON KE BHOOT BATAON SE NAHIN MANTE".

This was caste division, but here the point of focus is why just mere by the matter of fact that a man is born under a caste is just by fortune so, how one could exploit this people of low castes only because of their luck.

Today the days are changed we can't walk hand in hand with every single person but, we should consider every possibility for survival and better generation.
